The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially revealed the squad that will represent the country in the upcoming ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2024 and the tri-series in South Africa against England and South Africa. Uday Saharan, hailing from Punjab, will lead the team during these high-stake campaigns, with Saumy Kumar Pandey from Madhya Pradesh serving as his deputy.

The Junior Selection Committee, in collaboration with the BCCI, announced the squad for the tri-series, which will commence on December 29, 2023, featuring India, England, and South Africa. The final is scheduled for January 10, 2024. Following the tri-series, Team India U19 will shift focus to the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup, starting January 20, 2024, with a game against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein.

Group Stage Challenges

Placed in Group A alongside Bangladesh, Ireland, and the USA, India’s U19 cricket team is set to kick off their U19 World Cup campaign on January 20, 2024, against Bangladesh. Subsequent group fixtures are scheduled for January 25 (Ireland) and January 28 (USA), with the final slated for February 11, 2024, in Benoni.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revised the tournament’s schedule, relocating it from Sri Lanka to five different venues in South Africa. This shift followed Sri Lanka’s suspension due to breaching its obligations as an ICC Member.
