After the World Cup, India and Australia are facing each other in a five-match T20 series on Indian soil. The first two matches went in India’s favor. On November 28, India and Australia faced each other at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. In that match, Prasidh Krishna made an unwanted record. He spells the most expensive spell by an Indian in T20s.

Unwanted Record by Prasidh Krishna:

Both finalists of the World Cup 2023 are facing each other in a five-match T20 series. On November 28, India and Australia met each other in the third T20 international at the Barsapara Stadium in Assam. In that match, India was batting first. They set a target of 223 runs.

While bowling in the second innings, Prasidh Krishna made an unwanted record. He gave 68 runs in 4 overs. His economy rate was 17. That was an expensive spell by the bowler. Especially, the last over was tough for him. Australia needed 21 runs in the last over and Prasidh Krishna came to bowl. 

He started the over by a four. Matthew Wade hit the ball to the boundary. In the third ball of the over, Glenn Maxwell went for an excellent six. The fourth delivery went for a boundary. In the last two balls, 6 runs needed in 2 deliveries. Pressure was on both teams. In the fifth delivery, Maxwell went for a boundary, and along with that, he completed his century. In the final delivery, 2 runs were needed. Maxwell hit that for four runs and won the match. In the last over, Prasidh Krishna gave 23 runs.

Australia’s First Win of the Series:

India won the first two matches of the series and was leading the series by 2-0. The third T20 was played in Guwahati, Assam. After winning the toss, Australia opted to bowl first. India lost two early wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan got out. Ruturaj Gaikwad remained unbeaten on 123 runs in 57 balls with 13 boundaries and 7 over-boundaries. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav played a knock of 39 runs in 29 balls. Tilak Verma remained unbeaten on 31 runs. 

While batting in the second innings, Australia gave a decent start. Travis Head played a knock of 35 runs in 18 balls. He smashed 8 boundaries. Jos Inglis scored 10 runs and walked away. Glenn Maxwell was outstanding. He played a responsible century knock in crucial situations and secured the team’s win. He remained unbeaten on 104 runs in 48 balls. Australia won the match and made the series 2-1.
